Words By Water: Kinsale Literary Festival is delighted to welcome entries to the Words By Water Poetry Award. Poets are invited to submit up to three poems, up to a maximum of 30 lines, for consideration by judge Niall MacMonagle.

2017 Frank O’Connor International Short Story Fellow Marie-Helene Bertino (funded by Cork City Council) is available to mentor two Cork-resident fiction writers in October and November. Deadline May 29th.

The overall winner of the Fool for Poetry competition receives €1000, second place receives €500. Both chapbooks will be published and launched at the Cork International Poetry Festival (February 14th to 17th, 2018).

Recovery Anthology – deadline 19th July
Stories will be related to recovery from drugs or alcohol, either directly or indirectly, and stories may also be considered relating to mental or physical illness. They are looking for short stories (max 5,000 words), flash fiction (500-100 words), vignettes (experiential fiction or non-fiction), poetry, song lyrics, or creative nonfiction (5,000 max).
