The next round of this course begins Monday, 2nd March, 2020.
This 4-module online course is designed for writers preparing to send their first novel-length manuscript out to agents and publishers. What makes editors, agents and readers wince in the first few pages and/or stop reading? Why are synopses so painful to construct? What should be in a cover letter or a query letter (and what’s the difference)? And how do you even find (and check out) the people you want to send material to?
Instructor Claire Hennessy has worked on both sides of the desk – as author and as editor – and offers what she describes as ‘pragmatic optimism’ about the world of publishing in her workshops and courses.
This course is conducted via a private online classroom, which can be accessed at any time of the week.
