This online course is designed for people who would like to write a play and is suitable for beginners or more experienced writers who need a creative boost. We’ll cover the craft of playwriting under the headings of characterisation, structure, language, theatrical style and redrafting while also looking at a number of case studies which will help illustrate the tenets of good playwriting. These case studies will be tailored to each playwright’s individual interests.
Each module includes exercises to be sent to the instructor for feedback. You will also be asked to submit sections from your work in progress at regular intervals. This is a 6 module course conducted through a private online classroom, which participants can access at whatever time of the week best suits them.
