Creative writing courses in 2017

Happy new year! We’re back at the desk this week and excited about our upcoming courses, including:

These beginners’ classes (all evenings 6.30pm-8.30pm unless otherwise specified):
Introduction to Creative Writing (4 weeks), starting Monday 6th February
– two Beginning to Write Fiction classes (6 weeks), available from either Wednesday 18th January or Saturday 28th January (mornings 11am-1pm)
– two Beginning to Write (10 weeks) workshops, available from either Tuesday 7th February or Thursday 26th January

For post-beginners, try:
Get Writing (4 weeks), starting Monday 6th March
Intermediate Creative Writing (8 weeks), starting Wednesday February 8th
Advanced Creative Writing (8 weeks), starting Thursday January 26th

Specialist courses include:
Introduction to Children’s and YA Fiction (4 weeks), starting Monday January 23rd
Experimental Fiction (8 weeks), starting Tuesday January 24th
Introduction to Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy (6 weeks), starting Tuesday January 24th
Commit To Your First Draft (8 weeks), starting Tuesday January 24th
Novel Submission Prep (4 weeks), starting Monday February 20th

We’ve also got a range of one-day courses available: the next one is Introduction to Flash Fiction (Saturday 28th January). Our full list is available here.

Our Dublin Young Authors is a Saturday workshop for talented teens aged 14-17 will return on February 4th. It’s open to both newcomers and returning participants. Teachers and librarians, do note that DYA facilitators Dave Lordan and Claire Hennessy also regularly provide creative writing workshops for teens in schools, libraries, arts centres etc – do get in touch if interested!
