Ghost stories are some of the oldest stories we tell, yet continue to offer so many possibilities to writers. Participants will discuss and examine a range of ghost stories and then begin work on their own. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as writers with some experience wanting to try something new.
About the facilitator:
Deirdre Sullivan’s Tangle weed and Brine (Little Island, illus. Karen Vaughan), features thirteen reimagined fairytales and won the Teen/YA award at the Irish Book Awards 2017 and the CBI Book of the Year Award 2018. She is also the author of several other critically acclaimed novels for young adults, most recently Perfectly Preventable Deaths (Hot Key Books). Her short fiction and poetry has appeared in The Penny Dreadful, Mslexia, The Dublin Review and Banshee.
