The Dublin Young Authors writing and performance workshop for talented teens (ages 14-17) returns to Big Smoke as a summer programme. Participants are encouraged to write various pieces of work, drawing on their own passions, interests and experiences, with a view to performing some of this in a showcase at the end of the week. Alongside writing and performing exercises there will also be short talks and discussions on different aspects of being a writer in the modern world, and a chance for participants to experiment with new styles of writing and to develop their creative writing skills in general.

This summer course is ideal for talented and ambitious teens with something to say. It will be delivered by poet and performer Dave Lordan and YA author and editor Claire Hennessy. Both have extensive experience working with teenagers in schools, libraries, youth clubs, festivals and summer programmes.

Both newcomers and participants in previous DYA workshops are welcome.

For teen workshops, all participants and their parents/guardians should fill out this registration form even if paying online. The form can be emailed to
